Slow but fun

We have some slow updating on this blog at this moment due to various problems with the game, we got some problem with reloading features, weapons and etc, we are trying to fix these as soon as possible but the game must be completed soon so for now we are not focusing on the story and what not, we will feature a more arcade(ish) feel to it instead and mass zombies to kill, its still in pre-alpha state so the beta is maybe further away than we first expected, you always find yourself being delayed with these kind of projects so hopefully you understand the situation.
There are several things we want to have finished until the release of the game, you can read about it down below, otherwiese skip ahead to the section under the features one.

Survival feature

A kind of coin feature where you will have intel's you will need to find on the island and when you do you have kind of completed the game, atleast in this pre-alpha version, there will be zombies all around the island that will try to kill you, this is the gameplay for now.

We have a extremly basic quest feature that (if we have the time for it) will be implemented into the game, basic quest such as "kill 20 zombies for more ammo" and things like that.

Ammo and healthpack working properly (health packs work fine at this state) but we might, also if we got the time to do it, make a simple way of get more ammo or add ammo in the game, a regenerating HP is also an option.


We will continue to work on this but at a slower pace, mainly because after we are "done" in school with it we dont have to work with it and probably cant work on it in school anymore so we will need to give up some freetime for it, it will be done and we will release a beta of it but at this moment we want the above features done and then we will put it on ice and see what we will do with it, as i said before we will complete it one way or another but we need time to do it.

Today we are working on reload feature and maybe some new models in the game with textures and what not, other than that i want to show our personal project part 2 video, its down below, check it out :)

Some personal fun/project

We have started a new personal project aside from this game (school). Its about making youtube videos and commentaries, spotlights and more, it would be aweosme if you guys gave some feedback on it, dont forget to like, favorite and subscribe, we might as well upload gameplay of our school project there aswell ;)

Map tweaks

Sorry for the delay but here are the pictures i promised a couple of days ago, its the new map and we do realise that it dosent fit with our story since this is on a larger island while our story say we said we would have the game playing out in the city of Mogadishu but we dident get the Dystopia to work with unity and the textures dident work, now on the other hand we got a really awesome map whit textures and building and what not, enough about that!

More pictures and updates to come and today we worked alot on the detailed items around on the map, we will start working on the story parts of the game as soon as possible to, so we can get that part done and we will feature story driven main quests and also a side quest story that you can play whenever you want, we are still thinking about implementing stats and such into the game that you can upgrade and what not but that is something we will add in the future.

Back from holidays

We didn't post much the last week due to easter holidays, we felt that we needed to get the work off our backs and enjoy some quality time with our family's and of course playing alot of games. We are back now though and with lots and lots of inspiration and will to keep pushing ourselfs so our game can get as good as possible, as i said in the last post our map is very improved and i will try to remember to post pictures today/tonight and if that wont happen we will post tomarrow.

Today we are mainly doing some 3D work in Maya software, mostly minor items and details that will be in the game.

Heavly modded map

We recently got alot of feedback on our maps and since our dystopia map dident work that well with our game we went back to the old testing/sandbox map where we just put objects to see how they look,work and feel in the game, all the pictures so far are from that area and im very glad to announce that our first real map is complete, it still need alot of work and objects, houses to be put into the enviorment but the overall base map is finished and it looks absoloutly stunning!

I will post alot of pictures of it and all our pictures will come from this map from now on so you will see alot of it in the future, its also extremly large, i dont have any numbers right now but thats also something i will post later but as far as i can tell it will take a really long time to walk from one side to the other.

Thats pretty much all i have to say and again i just want to point out that we only update this blog when we actually do something to the game or got any ideas to post and what not, we dont want to post useless stuff as "today we didedent do anything...". That is not something you want to read and it is not what we are using this blog for.

Now dont forget to check back here every day so you dont miss out on anything because from now on things are getting really exciting, Beta is not far away!

We have made som major improvments to the game the past 3 days and since we thouth we would get the whole update done before posting the features on the blog, we made exciting updates to the map itself, we are still thinking and trying to do this awesome thing that we might reveal and give you guys a look at if we wont get it working properly, if we do get it to work on the other hand we will not reveal it until later on with pictures and videos showing gameplay of it but we will see how it goes.

We also changed the perspective of the game since we thouth that it will be much more fun this way, we will need to boost some of the textures but its not a problem, we are having our first game testing tomarrow (friday 29.3.2012). This is only for the local people who come to test and we will also test other new products and hopefully get some more ideas and get some cool feedback. This is not a alpha release and we still have no date for the official web release but dont worry, its not far away.

 We might tweak the fog to look more realistic. Today we will focus on making the map larger and prepare for the game testing tomarrow, thats all the updates i have for you today, i might post some pictures on how the map turns out and we will also make a minimap when the overall map is complete.

Rigidigi

Haii there!

Sorry for the low amount of updates coming in the recent days, the reason for that is that we dont want to update you guys on boring stuff and when we dont have any good content coming out we feel that there is no reason to post, we will rather post nothing than posting something that is boring to the reader.

With that said we still dont have any major improvments going on just yet, we got some function upgrades to alot of the objects, now they serve a purpose in the map, some more than others and alot of them are there to just guide, block and to make the scenery look good, others are there for interaction and can be blown up and what not, we also put in a easter eag and got some ideas for other easter eggs that you will be able to find in the game, this is something we make for fun and we'll see who can find all of them first.

Our map is also improved alot on, the previous pictures of the black hawk in the middle of forest and the missplaced buildings, gas stations and what not is not something that we will keep, what we took snapshots from was our testing map where we generally just test our 3D models and see if their rigidy bodys work (the script that make the object collide to other objects and actually get a wheight to it).
